Haiti Partnership

Endwell United Methodist Church has had over thirty members travel to Haiti through the Haiti Partnership of the Upper New York Conference.  In recent years, they are being assigned by UMVIM (United Methodist Volunteers in Mission) as part of the The United Methodist Church's response to the devastating earthquake in January 2010.

Morgan Allen, one of our college students, is traveling to Haiti January 5-14, 2012 with a group of nine persons from the Haiti Partnership.  They will be working at Torbeck, near Les Cayes, on the southern coast of Haiti.  This is Morgan's second trip to Haiti and her second trip to Torbeck.

Roger Richards and Jim Green are co-leading a team February 9-18, 2012 also going to Torbeck.  Jim Gallagher and Jerry Robinson are also on the team as well as two persons from Wisconsin and one from Florida.

April 5-14, 2012, Roger Richards and Steve Crowle are co-leading a team of 10  made up of persons entirely from Endwell.  In addition to Penny Short and Linda Peterson, there are six high school youth going to Haiti for their first time:  Tyler Allen, Kendra Barton, Lauren Bonitz, Brennan Crowle, Lora Finney and Nick Short.  The youth are spending their spring break going to Haiti.  They will also be celebrating Easter Sunday in a Methodist Church in Haiti.  Their work site has not yet been determined.
